Squash Court Heaters

Dear Squash players.

The thermosats that control the squash court heaters are set to 21degrees C, one degree above the World Squash recommended temperature for a squash court. Set at 21 degrees C they provide a comfortable playing temeprature.
I check the settings regularly and have often seen them altered, by players, to as high as 30 degrees which is beyond the heaters capability; so it will never turn off.

When I checked the settings yesterday (Wednesday 1st April) court 1 was set at 25 degrees, the glass back was set at 21 degrees and court 2 was set at 0 (ZERO) degrees.
This email is directed at those players that fiddle with the thermostats and I apologise to those who do not. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ALTER THE SETTINGS .

Set at 21 degrees the court will be at a comfortable playing temperature within 5 minutes of switching on. Turning the temperature up will not accelerate this process. If you do not want the court heater on then you have the option of switching the heater off at the switches located next to the court light meter boxes.

The message to those who think they are allowed to alter the themostats is YOU ARE NOT. PLEASE LEAVE THEM ALONE.

With Regards

Brian Birch (Chairman of Squash)
